My approach and training
There are so many forces out there working to disconnect us from each other, our bodies, and being our whole selves. We need respite. We need to feel well-resourced and well-loved in order to thrive. I understand how hard it is to do life alone. I know what it’s like to feel disconnected, to be unable to rely on your family of origin, to lose relationships and community, to grieve and mourn. We are not meant to do any of this alone or with ChatGPT. We are wired for real, human connection.

My approach is shaped by my love for relationships and community. I see therapy as just one tool to access greater understanding, growth, and change. Our relationship is what is healing. I want to help normalize the human experience and support you in feeling the full range of human emotion. Our bodies want to feel it all and we can practice giving ourselves the gift of embodiment. This can be a scary experience when we are used to living in our heads and talking about our feelings, rather than feeling them. I hope to make it less scary and help you increase your tolerance for living a more embodied life.

I trained at the Southern California Counseling Center for two years where I was supervised by liberatory-focused sex therapist, Jamila Dawson, LMFT. I then spent two more years at The Relational Center, where I trained in relational Gestalt. I ran several groups during my time there including Let’s Get This Poly Started: a community and support group for the ENM+ poly community, Bi, Don’t Panic: a support group for bi/pansexuals, and Let’s Talk About Sex: a sex education group. I earned my MA at Antioch University. Prior to my master’s degree, I worked at The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention center for LGBTQIA+ young people, and at Planned Parenthood of Arizona where I honed my skills as a client advocate and sex educator. My work is guided by a blend of narrative, relational Gestalt, IFS, and mindfulness-based approaches, with an emphasis on pleasure and self-love. My approach is warm, curious, and focused on client autonomy and empowerment.
